TDPVijayawada: The works of Pulichintala Project was going on at a snail's pace, observed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Krishna District President Devineni Umamaheswara Rao. The TDP Krishna District Committee visited the project site on Sunday. Devineni Umamaheswara Rao spoke to the project Executive Engineer and Chief Engineer over phone and enquired about the progress of the project. TDP leader Kagita Venkat Rao alleged that former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his close confidant KVP Ramachandra Rao had received Rs 50 crore kickbacks from contractors which resulted in delay of the project. Nandigama legislator Tangirala Prabhakar said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy disclosed that the Pulichintala Project will be inaugurated by June end but chances are bleak as completion of pending works may take one more year.
