The number of first time youth voters has been increased considerably in Vijayawada city. Out of 2.15 lakh voters in Krishna district, 88, 122 new votes were alone registered in the city.
Officials said that 29, 435 youth registered their vote in Vijayawada Central, 26,378 in Vijayawada West and 27,303 votes were included in the new voters list Vijayawada East Assembly segment.
The ruling TDP and opposition YSR Congress and Jana Sena leader are vying each other to include new voters in the electoral list as the assembly elections are just six months away in Andhra Pradesh.
