BENGALURU: On Friday morning the Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had laid the foundation stone for the bone marrow transplant unit of Kidwai hospital.
The estimated cost of the project is said to be Rs 17 crore, which is being funded by the state government. The construction is more likely to be completed within a year.
"This unit will help the poor needy patients suffering from cancer, especially children suffering from blood cancer, thalassemia. This is one of the largest projects in India," CM said taking part in the event.
He has also stated that it was his third visit to the Kidwai hospital in the last seven months, and he is aware of the staff crunch in the hospital.
