Sangareddy (Medak): District Collector A Dinakar Babu underlined the importance of transfer of latest technology in agriculture research to the farmer for the betterment of his financial condition.Addressing the meeting as the chief guest at the Agriculture University engineering college here in connection with the Engineers Day on Sunday, he said that agriculture implements played an important role in farming. He exhorted the engineers to manufacture utility-oriented implements for the agriculture sector and make them available to the farmers at reasonable prices.
The revolutionary changes in the agriculture research and technology should be made available at the field level to the farmers, he added.He exhorted the students to extend suitable advice and suggestions to the farmers to increase yield depending upon the soil variety.The students should take it as social responsibility to take the technology to the remotest areas in the country, the collector said.
Advising the students to take inspiration from the legendary Mokshagundam Visweswaraiah in engineering, he said that the students should strive for the development of mankind.Dr V Padmaraju, vice-chancellor of the university said that the agriculture engineering department has been established to boost the agriculture output.
