Nalgonda: Joint Collector Dr Hari Jawaharlal instructed the officials to be ready to implement the 'Amma Hastam' programme successfully to supply nine essential commodities for Rs. 185 through the public distribution system. Addressing the RDOs, tahsildars and other field staff through the video conference on Monday, the joint collector said that the officials should bring awareness among people about the Amma Hastam scheme. He said that white card holders and Antyodaya card holders should be supplied the nine essential commodities kit for Rs. 185. "The respective tahsildars should receive the kits and they should see to it that the kits reached the consumers," he added. He said that ration shop dealers should collect the stock and distribute the same to the cardholders from April 17 to 24. "The problem of 'no stock' should never arise," he said. He instructed the officials to organise mandal-level meetings to bring awareness about the scheme and take the help of people's representatives in this regard. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would inaugurate the programme at Hyderabad on Ugadi, he said.
