Guwahati: A hardcore militant belonging to NDFB(S) was apprehended by security forces from Assam's Chirang district on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.
BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that, based on intelligence input, police and CRPF had jointly launched operation at Patabari area under Amguri police station in the BTAD district and nabbed the militant.
"The militant joined the outfit group in 2012 and belonging to the 37th batch. He is suspected to be involved in the Lungsung adivasi massacre in December last year, " Dr Bisnoi said.
Security forces recovered one HE grenade from him.
