People's ire at contaminated water supply in Ongole

Ongole: The residents of Ongole are scared of drinking contaminated water that was being supplied by the corporation.A Scorching summer heat coupled with scarcity of water leaving the people in the lurch. The corporation officials, who are supposed to supply safe water, were least bothered about the health of the people. Adding insult to injury, the people in the villages across Prakasam district too are facing the same problem.

The residents in Ongole town alleged that they complained to the corporation officials many a time, but in vain. A They vented their ire at the officials for their negligent. A They further stated that elderly persons took ill after drinking the contaminated water. A The public representatives and officials can afford to buy mineral water, but they cannot buy pure water, they pointed out.A Hence, the officials should wake up from slumber and redress their grievance, they urged.
