Activists take out a massive rally in Warangal

Warangal: The activists of Telangana Jagruthi took out a rally here on Sunday to create awareness among the people on the State government’s intensive household survey scheduled to be conducted on August 19.

Telangana Jagruthi youth wing president D Vijay Bhasker led the massive rally of the activists and drum-beaters. The rally was conducted from the historic Thousand Pillars Temple to the Telangana Martyrs Memorial in Hanamkonda.

The drum-beaters wearing the masks of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stood as an attraction. Speaking to the media persons on the occasion, Vijay Bhasker said that the awareness programme titled ‘Chatimpu’ was taken to alleviate the fears and rumours being spread by opposition parties like TDP, BJP and Congress on the survey.

He asked the opposition parties to stop spreading false information regarding the survey. All the people in the district should participate and provide their details to the enumerators without any apprehensions. The survey was aimed to take the welfare schemes to the doorsteps of the poorer sections in the society, Vijay Bhasker said.

Disha educates people on survey

Meanwhile at Mahabubabad, Disha, a social service organization based in the town has released pamphlets and conducted awareness among the public regarding the August 19 household survey.

A team of students and youth of Parvathagiri village and neighboring hamlets Ramoji thanda and Somla thanda led by Disha president V.Gurunadha Rao conducted door-to-door campaign urging people to be present in their homes and provide details to the enumerators. The survey would help the government to plan and reach out to real beneficiaries. Disha members V Verender, M Prasad and students Ramesh, Mahender, Sandhya, Venka tesh and others were present.

Training programmes held

The district administration conducted training programmes for the enumerators drawn for the survey duty across the district. The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of the survey.

According to District Collector G Kishan, there were 9,39,731 households – 7,49,786 in rural and 1,98,945 in urban areas as per the statistics projected for the year 2014. The estimated households as per 2011 statistics were 8.68 lakh. About 39,550 employees would be used for the survey and nearly 1000 buses would be used for the transportation of the employees.

The collected data would be stored in computers for which 2500 computers would be used. The services of about 180 data entry operators would be used to upload the data enabling the government to access the same.
