Warangal: TDP MLA Ch Dharma Reddy has accused the ruling party leadership of putting pressure on opposition MLAs to join the TRS party.

If any elected people’s representative belonging to an opposition party was not reluctant to join Telangana Rashtra Samithi, he was being branded as anti-Telangana force or being called a traitor, the TDP legislator complained.

Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, the MLA said the TRS leadership was exerting pressure on him to defect to the TRS. However, he clarified he was not going to leave the TDP.

He objected to comments of MP Kadiam Srihari who had referred to TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao as ‘Telangana Drohi’ during the TRS party district executive meeting here on Tuesday. He also found fault with Srihari’s comments that the TRS workers should prevent his entry into the TRS.

The TRS leaders were trying to create confusion among the opposition legislators by spreading rumours, the TDP MLA complained. “The ruling party leaders are asking us to join their party but are not caring about the needs of people in our constituencies,” he added. He went on to add that the TRS leaders who were accusing TDP leaders as anti-Telangana forces should look around them and check whom were they nurturing. ‘Are the MLAs Konda Surekha and MP Srihari Telangana warriors; when did they fight for the cause’, he posed.

Was it not true the MLAs Aooruri Ramesh, B Shanker Naik and Surekha and MP Srihari joined the TRS just to get the ticket to contest in the elections, he questioned. He said the TRS was luring all the TDP MLAs in the state offering lot of things only to damage the party.

Further, Dharma Reddy hit out at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Cabinet colleagues for blaming AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for all the problems being faced by the Telangana people.

The fact is that the CM and his cabinet colleagues seem to be facing trouble in running the government as they do not possess the required skills. In order to cover up their shortcomings they were blaming the TDP Chief for everything,” he explained.

Chandrasekhar Rao has claimed that he would buy power from Chhattisgarh but no concurrent action was taken in that direction. As a CM he has not approached any state or the Centre seeking power, he alleged.

The TDP leaders in Telangana were ready to put pressure on AP Chief Minister if the Telangana Chief Minister approached the former seeking power supply. “We will ensure that 250 MW power be supplied to Telangana,” Dharma Reddy asserted.

The farmers in villages were coming out voluntarily protesting poor power supply. There was no clarity on loan waiver, pensions, power and all other important issues. The CM promised pensions from August. Now he says pension would be given from November.

He informed that the TDP leaders would tour all the districts in support of the farming community which was in distress due to poor power situation. In Warangal district, a ‘Bus Yatra’ would be taken up on October 11.

TDP leader P Ashok Kumar and others were present.
