Medal winning cop dies of heart attack during parade
A constable attached with Banjara Hills police station died of heart attack while taking part in a parade at Goshamahal ground on Saturday morning. On the orders of higher officials, the 98th batch constable G Shiva Sudhakar Rao, 40, who reached the Goshamahal ground early in the morning, began running in the ground.
The deceased constable won president’s police medal for his service in saving victims of a fire accident
Hyderabad: A constable attached with Banjara Hills police station died of heart attack while taking part in a parade at Goshamahal ground on Saturday morning. On the orders of higher officials, the 98th batch constable G Shiva Sudhakar Rao, 40, who reached the Goshamahal ground early in the morning, began running in the ground.
However, suddenly he fell down within few minutes. Some of those accompanying him tried to catch hold of him, but he went unconscious. Immediately, he was rushed to the Care Hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead. “We were ordered to join for weekly parade by DCP via SMS. He did not even complete the first round and fell down,” said another constable attached with Banjara Hills police station.
Sudhakar, who was engaged in cases of Non-Bailable Warrants (NBW), was considered to be an intelligent human being amongst his peers. Even the City Commissioner M Mahender Reddy who visited the hospital described him as a person who did outstanding work at a small age. “He was awarded with medals for saving people in Punjagutta fire accident a few years ago. His services were laudable,” said the Commissioner.
“He won President Police Medal for his service in saving the victims of fire accident at Somajiguda, while he was working in Punjagutta police station. It is a loss for the Hyderabad city police and as well as to his family,” the commissioner added.
