Mahabubnagar: Mahabubnagar MP Jitender Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, would lay foundation stone for Palamur Lift Irrigation Scheme, in another 10 days time. Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said that KCR was committed to make the district lushfully green and was working hard for it.

  • Estimated cost of the scheme is pegged around 31,000 cr

Jitender Reddy said that the cost of the lift irrigation scheme was estimated at Rs 31,000 crore and it would provide irrigation to seven lakh acres in the district. He said that the remaining four projects, the Koyilsagar, Nettempadu, Bhima and Kalwakurthi lift irrigation schemes would provide water for irrigation purposes to 16 lakh acres of land. Jitender Reddy said that the state government was taking several measures to provide jobs to youth, drinking water to people of the district and steps to prevent migrations.
