Hyderabad: The Congress on Tuesday alleged that the men close to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were indulging in land grabbing, in his constituency of Gajwel. The land which was provided by earlier governments to poor is now being snatched away by his associates.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises, former minister D K Aruna said instead of distributing 3-acre of land to the poor, the men close to KCR were snatching away lands in Pregnapur, under his constituency. She alleged that the close aide of him, Lakshmikantha Rao and his henchmen snatched away land belonging to a family, after its value has gone up in the recent years due to development in the area. “Does the CM has knowledge of what is happening in his own constituency ?” she questioned.

According to her, Lakshmikantha Rao and his men created fabricated documents under the names of their relatives and sold away part of the land, which is now valued at Rs 50 lakh per acre. The Collector was informed about the issue, by producing genuine documents, but there has been no action. The Chief Minister, if he is serious about the welfare of the poor, must intervene in the issue, so that the property is restored with the rightful possessor.
