Hyderabad: Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said there was good opportunity for the party to grow in the State. He was speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion of BJP MLA from Musheerabad K Laxman officially assuming charge as Telangana BJP president State BJP office at Nampally here.

Recently the BJP central leadership announced the name of Laxman as new State BJP chief. Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya, national secretary Murlidhar Rao, Kishan Reddy and other party MLAs, including N V S S Prabhakar and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and leaders attended.

Venkaiah Naidu expressed hope that the State BJP would emerge as a force to reckon with under the leadership of Dr Laxman. He called upon party leaders and workers to strive for strengthening of the party in the State Venkaiah Naidu said, “We have basic infrastructure and good leadership in Telangana. We are not against minorities but we are against fundamentalists. Opposing MIM doesn’t mean opposing Muslims,” said Naidu.
