AP web developer booked for plagiarism
The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Cell on Monday booked a case against the website developer of the Andhra Pradesh Industries Department on the basis of a complaint by the Telangana Industries Department.
​Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Cell on Monday booked a case against the website developer of the Andhra Pradesh Industries Department on the basis of a complaint by the Telangana Industries Department.
An official from the Telangana Industries Department lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell, stating that the developer of AP Industries Department website had plagiarised the content from the Telangana State website and also some policy information and presented it the same way on AP government’s official website.
The police booked a case under Section 63 of The Copyrights Act for probe. Detective Department DCP Avinash Mohanty said on Tuesday, “The complaint was against the website developer and not AP government.
We are verifying the data, design and architecture of websites of both the States. The website is maintained by the developer TCS. Investigation is on.”
