Nalgonda: Construction Workers Federation of India (CWFI) national president R Singaravelu demanded the government allocation of funds for the construction workers in the State budget.

He participated as the chief guest at the first State-level meeting of the building and other constructions workers here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the government was diverting the funds of labor welfare board to other works.

He called upon the workers to fight for their rights and also suggested the Central government not to entertain foreign investments, which will do harm to the workers of unorganised sector.

CITU state president Saibaba slammed the government on its anti-workers policies.

Stating that the construction labour in the State was suffering with the sand policy, he criticised that the government did nothing for the welfare of daily labour.

He demanded that the government should take necessary steps to avoid migrations of the workers in the State.

CITU leaders Paladugu Bhaskar, Tummala Veera Reddy, Ramulu, Salim, Lakshminarayana, Vanama Damoder, Dandempally Sattaiah and leaders of building and other construction unions of 10 districts have participated in the meeting.
