Nizamabad: The 74 children, belonging to the minority community, hailing from Bihar who were caught by the Railway Protection Force in Warangal Railway Station while they were being shifted under suspicious circumstances recently has created a flutter.

The unsatisfactory replies given by the persons who were accompanying the children is further adding to the suspicion. They were taking the children without any valid documents or permission letters from the parents.

The two persons, on interrogation told the police that the children belonged to families living below the poverty line and were not in a position to rear them.

As a result, they voluntarily gave their children so that they could be admitted in Madrassas, so that they could get some education, food and shelter.

However, the reply given by the duo failed to satisfy the officials concerned. Speaking to the media here on Monday, the social welfare officer wondered as to why the Madrasssas here would take children of Bihar when so many of such poor children were available in Telangana.

He said that 24 children have been sent to the district social welfare department in Nizamabad.

The social welfare officer said that the two persons brought lot of pressure on the department officials to hand over the children to them, but their plea was not accepted.

He said that it was not clear whether these minor children were brought from other states to make them work in hazardous factories or for admitting them in Madrassas.

Meanwhile, the top sleuths of the Intelligence department have intensified their investigations into the whole affair.
