Hyderabad: The State Human Rights Commission on Friday issued notices to the Home Secretary Rajiv Trivedi and Director General of Police Anurag Sharma to submit a report on the suicide of Medak sub-inspector Ramakrishna Reddy.

Taking into cognizance of the media reports that senior police officers had harassed Ramakrishna Reddy (45), the HRC directed the Home Secretary and DGP to submit a detailed report by August 30.

Ramakrishna Reddy, who was attached to the Kuknoorpally police station, shot himself dead with his service revolver on August 17. His family members alleged that senior police officers in the district had harassed him for not being obedient to them. The deceased SI’s family members also claimed that he had left a suicide note in which he revealed the reasons for taking the extreme step.
