Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Sunday announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh to Dipa Karmakar, who stood at fourth position in the gymnastic event at Rio Olympics. Announcing the cash prize, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said Dipa was the only gymnast who represented the country after 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Dipa is an inspiration to young sportspersons, KCR said.
