Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday inaugurated RVM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center at Laxmakkapally village in Mulugu mandal in Medak district. 

Mulugu (Medak): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday inaugurated RVM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center at Laxmakkapally village in Mulugu mandal in Medak district.

The medical college has been started this year with 150 medical students with anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, General Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, gynaecology, radiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dentistry, Chest and TB, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Anaesthesiology departments.

There are 13 professors, 10 associate professors, 33 assistant professors, 16 tutors, 19 SRs and 28 JRs and a medical superintendent working in these departments to impart quality medical and health education to students of medicine. There are separate hostels for boys and girls on campus. Modern lecture halls, demonstration rooms, labs, computer room and library and common rooms meant for recreation are well-established on campus.

RVM Hospital was established in 2009 with 300 beds and it has been working under the aegis of RVM charitable trust. The hospital boasts of having 50 resident doctors in various departments. The hospital and institute aim to ‘improve the well-being of the community through quality programme of preventive medicine, medical education and research,’ as per its charter.

Health Minister Laxma Reddy, Finance Minister Eatela Rajender, Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Minister for Power Jagadish Reddy, MPs and MLAs participated in the inauguration.
