Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday visited the flood-affected area of lower Manair dam, in Karimnagar district. The Chief Minister was earlier supposed to do an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in the district but due to unsuitable weather conditions, he reached there by road.

Karimnagar is reeling under floods with several villages submerged and an under-construction bridge getting collapsed. KCR will be visiting the Lower Manair dam region and also direct the officials to provide immediate relief to the people in the affected villages.

Previously, Ministers Harish Rao and Etela Rajender opened six gates of the Manair dam due to the overflow of rain water with the inflow being 40,000 cusecs while outflow is 14,000 cusecs.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad got some respite from incessant rains on Monday with the public resuming their daily routine. GHMC officials have taken up repair works on roads which were damaged due to the heavy rains. Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao reviewed the situation with officials of various departments and instructed them to ensure supply of clean drinking water.
