Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari has urged the Scotland team to extend their help in offering qualitative education in Telangana with a focus on standards and quality. Srihari on Tuesday held a key meeting with Scotland delegates and apprised them of steps being taken to strengthen the education sector.

The delegation promised to provide help on three issues including changes in teaching methods, improving teaching skills and providing market opportunities to students with soft skills. In regard, it also sought the minister to give related proposals for taking the necessary steps.

The minister has earlier explained about the steps being taken towards improving education standards at the state level. In addition, to the 240 Gurukul schools, the government began 254 schools this year and is planning to open 210 schools for the next academic year, he said.

To reduce the dropout rates at the school and intermediate level, the government started providing the finest possible facilities including water, OR plants, computer labs, bio metric machines, digital classes, electricity, toilets, and clean premises among others he said.

Telangana knowledge Centres’ are aiming to provide employment to students who have completed degree courses. Besides, training facility for teachers is also being offered he added.
