Hyderabad: A large number of youth staged demonstrations at the office of Commissioner of School Education in support of their demand for filling of 40,000 vacancies in government and aided schools. The youth protested against the government failing to issue District Selection Committee notification to recruit teachers as per the deadline set by the Supreme Court. Thousands of youth remained jobless as no DSC notification was issued after 2012.


Even though three years had elapsed since the formation of Telangana State, the government had failed to issue notification, the protesters said. Backward Classes Welfare Association president and TDP MLA R. Krishnaiah also took part in the dharna and expressed his solidarity with the protesters.

Speaking on the occasion, he said nearly 40,000 posts of teachers were vacant in the State and demanded that State government immediately issue notification to fill the posts. He alleged that the government has been destroying the education system in the State by not filling vacancies and wondered how the schools would function without teachers.
