In a move to step up political activity and to ascertain the performance of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Ministers and MLAs, the Chief Minister and party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao instructed all the Ministers to submit a detailed progress report on the development programmes taken up in their respective constituencies in the past three years. Hyderabad: In a move to step up political activity and to ascertain the performance of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Ministers and MLAs, the Chief Minister and party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao instructed all the Ministers to submit a detailed progress report on the development programmes taken up in their respective constituencies in the past three years. At present, the strength of the ruling TRS in the 119-member State Assembly is 82.
The people’s representatives were also asked to submit new proposals for taking up the development programmes in their constituencies by October end. Based on the reports, the Chief Minister would review the performance of each MLA in one to one meeting.
After completing the exercise, Chandrashekar Rao is planning to prepare a Constituency Wise Development Strategy, which will be enforced from the last quarter of this financial year till 2019 elections. In the meetings, Chandrashekar Rao would review the details of utilisation of funds earmarked under Special Development Fund in every constituency by each MLA.
The status of State sponsored flagship schemes like Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha, two bedroom housing and enforcement of welfare schemes like pensions for old-aged and single women, KCR Kits, Arogyasri etc would also be ascertained.
Based on the performance of TRS legislators, Chief Minister would decide the strength and weakness of the MLAs. The TRS chief would also compare the outcome of the surveys conducted on the winning prospects of the sitting TRS MLAs with the development taken place in every constituency. After completion of the review, sources said Chandrashekar Rao would prepare constituency wise development strategy for each constituency.
Later, he would review the development taken place in other constituencies where the opposition parties (excluding AIMIM) won the 2014 election and evolve strategy to improve the winning chances of TRS in the next elections. The government also proposes to publish constituency wise books explaining Chandrashekar Rao’s efforts in achieving Golden Telangana.
