The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) State leader and former MLA Julakanti Rangareddy slammed the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his remarks on left parties during the public meeting at Suryapet.
Nalgonda: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) State leader and former MLA Julakanti Rangareddy slammed the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his remarks on left parties during the public meeting at Suryapet.
The former MLA along with CPM District Secretary Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy held a press conference at the party district office here on Saturday. Speaking about the construction of memorial pillars by left parties, Julakanti said the construction of memorial pillars, running libraries, and sports events on the name of Martyrs is respecting their valuable services to the society. He said K Chandrashekar Rao had completely ignored the welfare of 1100 martyrs’ families, the martyrs’ who sacrificed their lives for the formation of Telangana State. Julakanti said during the separate statehood agitation, K Chandrashekar Rao took help from every party and organisation and conducted discussions about intensifying the strikes but, after the formation of the State and becoming the Chief Minister, he became a dictator and ignored all the people who backed him.
He further added that instead of discussing the matters like before, K Chandrashekar Rao is conversing with just his family members and taking all crucial decisions at his will.
Julakanti stated that K Chandrashekar Rao praising the Nizam nawab was totally unfair as he tortured the people of this region in unexplained ways.
He stated that the left parties distributed about 10 lakh acers to poor in the last 60 years, and questioned the Chief Minister on how many acres was distributed to SCs under three-acre land distribution scheme and also raised questions about the other schemes including jobs to unemployed youth and 2BHKs to house less poor.
The CPM District Secretary Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy said through continuous efforts and agitations of left parties for the last sixty years many irrigation projects came up in the State including Nagarjuna Sagar Project, SLBC project on Krishna River, and Asif Nagar project on Musi river in the erstwhile Nalgonda district. He criticised the Chief Minister who claimed that the linking of Musi with Krishna river at Peddadevulapally reservior was his idea. He said it was the idea of Kunduru Chola kings who ruled this region in 12th century and dug chain based ponds for the welfare of farmers.
He advised that the Chief Minister should complete the pending irrigation projects, mainly SLBC tunnel project to get the Krishna water from Srisailam dam through gravity to turn the erstwhile Nalgonda district as green belt and a fluoride free district.
