Gachibowli: The footpath at the upcoming pet park or a dog park if one may wish to call that is to be thrown open before September 6 is unique in more ways than one. It is sturdy, colourful and can take extraordinary amount of weight, 20 tonnes to be precise.

The brainchild behind the idea, Prashant Lingam of Bamboo House India says, “Recycled plastic has so many benefits, the biggest is it is sturdy and can be made in different colours. One tile is made with over 900 plastic bags. The weight of each tile is 300 gms and can approximately take around 20 tonnes of weight.” More than 15,000 tiles were made for the footpath and 24 lakh discarded polythene covers were consumed for laying this place. There is another tile of 200 gms with 20 tonnes weight taking capacity is also available.
