Good response to bandh; school, shops down shutters

Kothagudem: The bandh call given by the Opposition parties saw good response across the district as most of the schools and colleges remained closed and traffic was also was thin.
Addressing the people, leaders of Congress and Left parties came down heavily on the Central Government for increasing the petrol and diesel prices. They said that instead of solving the problems of the people, the government is burdening them with high fuel prices. Ever since the BJP has come to power it has increased petrol and diesel prices several times.
The leaders demanded the government to bring the petroleum products under the GST. The Left parties CPM,CPI, New Democracy and Congress party leaders staged protests in all the mandal head quarters. The Left parties jointly orgranised protests in the coal town, power town and temple town areas.
Due to the Bharat Bandh the buses services were affected till the afternoon. The shops and schools were remained closed. The cinema halls were cancelled the morning shows and after noon shows due to the bandh.
