Prisoners Welfare Day celebrated at Chanchalguda Jail

Chanchalguda: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, the Central Prison on Tuesday celebrated Prisoners Welfare Day in Chanchalguda.
Suneetha Kunchala, 1st additional metropolitan session judge, Hyderabad, presided as chief guest and B Saidaiah, deputy inspector general of prisons, Hyderabad Range, presided over the function.
Amongst other dignitaries who attended the programme as guest of honour were K Naga Raja Rao, XV additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate – cum - secretary, Metropolitan Legal Services Authority, Hyderabad. Anil Kumar, Chairman of Amma Foundation, Hyderabad sponsored cultural programmes for entertainment of prisoners.
In his welcoming address, the Superintendent of Prisons, Central Prison, Hyderabad, K Arjuna Rao narrated the welfare programmes and other reformative and rehabilitative programmes being implemented for the benefit of prisoners in Central Prison.
He further noted that the implementation of various reformation programmes in Telangana State prisons has led to reduction in the habitual offenders.
The Programme was attended by Dr D Srinivas, deputy superintendent of Jail, P. Saibaba, deputy superintendent of Jail, A Venkatesham, Jailor and S Vijaykumar.
