Medak: District Collector Dharma Reddy advised people not to take money or any other inducements while voting. He was speaking at an awareness session held for Walker Association members on use of EVM here at Indira Gandhi Stadium on Tuesday. He said that the government had arranged VVPAT machines to make elections more transparent and a voter can now know which party he or she voted for, through these machines.

He informed that awareness programmes were being conducted at every level to raise awareness among voters. He advised voters not to vote based on money, caste or religion considerations, but should vote based on character of candidates. Good governments would be formed only by good candidates, he said.

He stressed that it was the responsibility of each voter to ensure that a good government was formed. Joint Collector Nagesh, DRO Ramulu, District Rural Development Officer Seetharama Rao, nodal officers Sudhakar, Raji Reddy and Madhumohan and others were present.
