Warangal: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is in all probability will get Warangal East constituency to field its candidate as part of Mahakutami (Grand Alliance) seat sharing, former Deputy Mayor and TDP Greater Warangal President Kakke Saraiah said.

Addressing a press conference at the Siva Nagar party office here on Monday, he told the cadres not to get confused over the rumours pertaining to the candidature of Warangal East seat.

“TDP State General Secretary and Warangal Urban district president Eega Mallesham is the lone contender, who is certain to get into the poll fray. Mallesham, who belongs to backward class community, has been with the party since its inception and is the right choice for the party to field him from Warangal East constituency,” Saraiah said.

It’s going to be advantage for the party to field Mallesham from the East constituency where the population of backward classes is more, he added. This apart, several surveys suggest that Warangal East is one among many constituencies where Mahakutami has better chances of winning the ensuing election. Against this backdrop, some leaders with vested interests are creating confusion among the TDP cadres, Saraiah said.

Further he termed it as speculative and premature. He accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) of conspiring to win the election by creating such false news. He appealed to cadres to gird up their loins for high-octane electioneering along with the alliance partners.

Saraiah expressed confidence that Mallesham will get the Warangal East ticket. Bhaskula Eshwar, GL Sridhar, Jilakara Veeraswamy, Pothana Venkateshwarlu and Nagavelli Suresh were among others present.
