Basheerbagh: The central committee member of PV Narasimha Rao Jilla Sadhana Samithi, Deshpande, demanded the Telangana State government to name any one of the 31 districts after noted academician, multi-linguist and former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. He spoke at a press conference held at Basheer Bagh press Club on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the nation cannot forget the great services rendered by the former prime minister. He led the nation when it was in a critical economic situation and managed to revive it with economic reforms. He appealed to the state government to come forward to name a Telangana District after him in recognition of services rendered to the nation. Preparations are being made to conduct padayatra from the birth place of Narasimha Rao, Vangara, to Hyderabad to press the state government in this regard, he said. Inagala Bheem Rao, Pathangi Lakshman Rao, Arundhathi Rao and others were present on the occasion.
