Falaknuma: As many as 44 vehicles including 39 bikes, 4 autos and a car were detained for verification during the cordon & search operations conducted by south zone police at Farooq Nagar, Fatima Nagar areas of Falaknuma police station limits.

Around 200 policemen took part in the cordon & operations, following instructions of DCP south zone Amber Kishore Jha. Besides seizure of vehicles, 16 rowdy - sheeters were also taken into custody to check their activities in the area. Community elders and locals welcomed the initiative by police. Additional DCP south zone Rafeeq, ACP Falaknuma, MA Rasheed, Inspector Falaknuma, Srinivas and other police officials took part.

Meanwhile, the Sultan Bazar division police also undertook cordon & search operations with five searching parties, six cut-off parties and three lifting parties and covered Chowdary Bagh residential area. During cordon & search operations, the police detained 30 two-wheelers, without proper documents and five persons were taken into custody for moving under suspicious circumstances. The police verified their antecedents, as there were no adverse remarks against them, they were let off. “During the cordon & search operation, we interacted with the locals and educated them about Nenu Saitham programme being implemented by the police and the uses of installation of more CCTV cameras in the locality thereby to curb the offences,” the police officials said.

The police officials received numerous complaints regarding ‘illegal parking’ in the area by unknown persons. Further, The ACP Sultan Bazar addressed the gathering and explained the services of police like Dial 100, She Teams, Wow, Hawk Eye, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and requested the colony people to avail the services and get access through different apps. The residents further requested the police to take care of chain-snatchers. The police asked the residents to collect documents from tenants and furnish their information to police. The police also created awareness about cheaters, illegal financiers and also illegal chit fund holders. In this cordon and search operation, one ACP, two Inspectors, eight SIs and 75 staff and a special party participated.
