These practices are appropriate for people form all walks of life and economic status over the age of 15, the only qualification is willingness to improve a lead a balanced life.
Heartfulness is a system of Raja Yoga meditation founded at the turn of the 20th century. A centurylater, Heartfulness has been embraced globally by groups in civil society, government departments, schools, colleges andthe corporate world.
KanhaShanthivanam is an important center of the missionset in the lap of nature amidst the lush green fields of Kanha village, Ranga Reddy district (around 25 km from Rajeev Gandhi International Airport).KanhaRetreat Center extends across a sprawling 250-acre area, housing various buildings and facilities catering to both the spiritual and material needs of seekers.
Kamlesh D Patel, affectionately referred to as Daaji,the global spiritual guide of the heartfulness system, says: “Plants have a much greater capacity to retain the subtle vibrations of yogic transmissions compared to human beings.” He oversees large-scale plantation programmes in and around KanhaShanthivanam. The dry barren landscape of Chegur village in Ranga Reddy district is already transformed into a lush green landscape. Patel is a role model for students of spirituality who seek that perfect blend of eastern heart and western mind. He travels extensively and is at home with people from all backgrounds and walks of life, giving special attention to the youth of today. “You are the experiment, you are the experimenter, and you are the outcome,” says Dadaji. He also authored the book,‘Designing Destiny.’
Rishabh Kothari, the joint secretary of heartfulness, initiated his own personal development journey by joining the Heartfulness movement. He is also the co-editor of the international wellness and lifestyle magazine Heartfulness.
Brighter Minds programme, a mission of heartfulness, was launched in February 2016 at KanhaShantivanam, Hyderabad, the global headquarters for Heartfulness, with an objective to explore the brain stimulation to enhance cognitive abilities in children. Brighter Minds programme is a result of extensive development and Research on the tools, techniques and methodologies.
Alex who moved from Russia to India in 2007 says, “I was a student when my martial arts instructor suggested meditation. My first and second sessions were a very strong experience and I found so much love in it. After practising regularly, I found overall calmness and clarity of thought.”
The group members who are currently in Kanha on a 7-day trip come from all walks of life. A large group hails from Russian-speaking countries. The seminar hosted sessions by experts on Astanga Yoga.
Miguelina of South Russia said “This experience bought us together, we have mutual love and everybody feels connected. Each od us have a unique experience of Kanha and we take these pieces and melt it to others back in our homes”
Ala, an artist from Russia, says, “I feel like the roots of Russia and India are connected and we are realising this now. As a modern woman, I understand how many problems we face, but after coming here everything will be solved. This is the perfect condition for us to live.”
