Hyderabad: Kukatpally police on Monday registered a case against Andhra Pradesh police and stepped up investigation into the data theft case. The case against the AP police was registered under Section 447 (Trespass) and 506 (Intimidation) based on the complaint lodged with the police by whistle-blower T Lokeswar Reddy.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said action would be taken against the AP police very soon and the identification of police personnel was collected with the help of CCTV footage. Lokeswara Reddy filed a complaint in KPHB police station, stating that he has been receiving threatening calls from unknown persons.
It may be recalled that on March 3 at about 11 pm a group of persons trespassed into his house at Indu Fortune Fields at KPHB. On seeing them, he immediately ran inside and locked himself in the bedroom.
He alerted his friends and neighbours and they came to his rescue. Those, who intruded his house, when enquired, identified themselves as AP police. He said he apprehended threat to him.
