mmtcVisakhapatnam: The Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC) is conducting second edition of gold jewellery exhibition-cum-sale under the name 'Festival of Gold' at Godavari Hall, The Gateway Hotel (Taj), from April 10 to 14 on the occasion of Ugadi as per the promise made during the exhibition last year, said company chief general manager Ashish Mazumdar. Accompanied by company general manager Suresh Babu, deputy general manager (finance) A Hari Gopal Rao and Keyur Shah from Muthoot Fincorp Limited, Mr Ashish Muzumdar told reporters here on Saturday that elaborate arrangements have been made to hold the festival this time with the experience of last year which had evoked tremendous response so much so that the company was forced to stop the customers' flow at one stage. He said more than one lakh designs of best jewellery from over several States would be displayed. Popular picks include lightweight colour stone jewellery, reversible jewellery from Bengaluru and the company's new brand 'Sanchi' range of silverware with 92.5 per cent purity. The 'Festival of Gold' is aimed at offering hallmarked gold jewellery signifying purity, he added. The response to the exhibition in New Delhi had prompted the company to organise the expo twice a year. It has also taken the event to cities like Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam. Mr Suresh Babu said the gold jewellery sold in the exhibition would be certified by International Gemmological Labs and silver coins, pendants and silver bars manufactured by MMTC-Pamp joint venture would also be exhibited. The exhibition would have the support of Muthoot Fincorp Group, which has been financing jewellery as per the RBI guidelines for non-banking financial companies. Mr Keyur Shah of Muthoot Fincorp Group said they were happy to join hands with MMTC in organising the exhibition with schemes like 'Jewellery purchase now made easy Pay just 40 per cent and the rest in easy instalments'.
