Hyderabad: "The first right of every human being is the right to self-defence" is the focus of workshops being conducted by Nalgonda-based Cherupalli Vivek Teja, International martial artist. He's been conducting self-defence training programmes all over the world including the USA, Malaysia, Thailand and Nepal.

"We go to schools, colleges, and corporate offices to conduct self-defence trainings. We've successfully trained more than 19,000 women," he added.

Startled by Nirbhaya incident and with the aim of doing something for society, he started the initiative in the year 2012. "My aim is to train as many students as possible in self-defence and martial arts. I want to empower them to defend themselves," he said stating his zeal for starting an academy in India.
