As many as 39 Qatar returnees were stopped at the Zaheerabad. They arrived in Mumbai from Qatar and were travelling to Hyderabad on a private bus when the police intercepted the vehicle.
Other two private buses with 60 people travelling to Hyderabad from Goa was intercepted near Kodangal. All the passengers were shifted to quarantine centre in Gachibowli.
Sangareddy superintendent Chandrasekhar Reddy said that the people who returned Qatar belongs to Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh. They landed in Mumbai instead of Hyderabad fearing they might be placed under quarantine if they land at RGI airport.
The police said that the people who are travelling due to personal or medical reasons are allowed to cross the border.
