Kodangal: In a tragic accident, a 74-year-old woman was run over by a speeding lorry at Kodangal Junction on Monday killing her instantly.
According to sources, Besta Yellamma (74) years while crossing the road at Kodangal junction was hit by a speeding lorry. She suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.
According to Kodangal police, the lorry driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. "We have arrested the lorry driver and registered a case against him for rash driving and drunk driving.
The dead body of the woman is shifted to government hospital for post-mortem," informed Kodangal police.
