Hyderabad: Despite the state government claimed it has brought the escalating prices of chicken by the poultry industry under control, the poor man's stable food has become the costliest essential commodity In Telangana.
The price of chicken has been increased to Rs 300 on Sunday as against Rs 200 in the last weekend.
The government authorities maintained that the fluctuations in chicken prices is the result of the losses incurred by the poultry industry. To overcome the financial crisis, poultry industry is fleecing the consumers in the form of enhancing the prices of chicken abnormally.
Since the consumption of chicken is high on Sunday, the industry managements are exploiting the consumers by the sudden increase of the prices. The government is only playing mute spectator role in the control of prices, consumers pointed out.
