The police successfully connected the dots of the murder case with a missing case registered at Chandanagar police station and auto burning case of Rajendranagar police station
Hyderabad: The South Zone task force officials along with the Pahadishareef police on Saturday cracked the murder case that took place at Jalpally Lake on May 1 and apprehended five people.
The police seized one motorcycle and a knife that was used for the commission of the offence.
The deceased was identified as T Sainath (28, auto driver). The accused were identified as Shaik Ismail (23), Shaik Amer (24), Ahmed Ali Khan (19), Mohammed Abdul Sameer (19) and boy juvenile in conflict with law (JCL).
According to City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, the origin of the offence falls under Chandanagar police station limits, where the accused hired the auto of Sainath and travelled for about 40 kilometres and killed Sainath over a dispute regarding auto fare under Pahadishareef PS limits.
The accused allegedly later burnt the deceased's auto under Rajendranagar PS limits to cause disappearance of evidence.
The police were successful in connecting the dots of the Pahadishareef murder case, due to the missing complaint registered with the Chandanagar police station on May 2 and auto burning case of Rajendranagar police station on May 3.
The Commissioner said in the course of the investigation, the South Zone Task Force traced the owner of the auto and through him came to know that he leased out the auto to Sainath on daily rental basis.
Venugopal, Sainath's brother, disclosed the physical features of his brother and also identity marks.
The police crosschecked these marks with the deceased body and confirmed that the unknown male found dead under Pahadishareef PS is Sainath, as the physical features and identity marks were similar.
Further Task Force examined the CCTV footages en route the offence for a distance of about 40 km and traced the accused persons.
According to the police, on April 30, on request of Ismail, Amer and Boy Juvenile left him at Tolichowki. Shera, Amer's friend, had earlier lent money to one person and requested Amer to accompany him to collect dues.
Later, all the four left in an auto from Tolichowki. In the middle of the journey, all of them consumed liquor and reached Lingampally.
After receiving the money from a person at Lingampally, Ismail, Amer, Boy Juvenile and Shera hired the auto of Sainath for an amount of Rs 700 to go to Chintalmet, Rajendranagar.
In the wee hours of May 1 after reaching Tolichowki, both Boy Juvenile and Shera got down from the auto, while Ismail and Amer continued the journey in the same auto.
The accused after reaching the destination gave Rs 500 to Sainath.
However, Sainath asked for Rs 700 as per their agreed rent prior to journey, Ismail and Amer who were in an inebriated state, got infuriated and thrashed Sainath.
During the altercation, the accused contacted one Ahmed Ali Khan, who brought a knife and gave it to the accused and left. Using the knife, the accused threatened auto driver to take them to Jalpally at around 1:25 am.
On reaching the destination, the accused engaged in another altercation with Sainath regarding payment. As Sainath refused to accept Rs 500 and threatened to complain to police, the accused Ismail stabbed him while Amer caught hold of Sainath.
Later, both accused drove the deceased's auto to Vattepally and reached Boy Juvenile's house. As there were blood stains in the auto, they decided to set it ablaze.
As per their plan they went to an open place in Chintalmet and set ablaze the auto along with deceased's mobile phone. All the four accused persons and Boy Juvenile were handed over to Pahadishareef police for further action.
