Final phase of ZPTC, MPTC polls conclude
The second phase of ZPTC and MPTC polls in the district were concluded peacefully on Friday. Elections for four ZPTCs and 53 MPTC seats in Tandur, Basheerabad, Yalal, Peddemul mandals.

As many as 19 candidates for four ZPTCs and 133 candidates for 53 MPTCs are in the fray. Polling started at 7 am. The voting was dull between 12 noon and 4 pm due to hot weather. After 4 pm, the polling picked up pace and ended by 5 pm.
The same polling centres used for previous elections for Lok Sabha are again being used for this election. Keeping the scorching sun, drinking water arrangements and tents were also provided for the voters. SP Narayana supervised the security.
He visited polling centres at Peddemul and Mambapur. As many as 2,250 polling staff took part in the conduct of the second phase elections.
