Hyderabad: Appreciating the RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) on relenting the demand of merger of RTC with government, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi on Friday demanded the State government to immediately hold discussions with the RTC JAC leaders.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Ravi brought to the notice of the ruling government that the RTC workers had decided to drop their main demand keeping in view of the corporation's future and added that it was now the turn of the State government to reciprocate to the gesture made by the JAC leaders.

The Congress leader stated it was unfortunate that the State government did not respond even after 41 days of the launch of the strike by RTC JAC.

He said that the problem would come to an end if the government hold discussions with the RTC workers and submit a report before the High Court on November 18.

Ravi warned the State government that it would have to pay a heavy price if it did not respond to the request made by the RTC workers.
