People in Hyderabad are reeling under an intense heat wave with the maximum temperature touched to 44 degrees on Sunday.

According to Telangana State Development Planning Society, Saroor Nagar in the city has recorded the highest day temperature of 44.1 degrees followed by Uppal 44 degrees, Musheerabad at 44 degrees and Kukatpally at 43.9 degrees.

However, the average temperature in the city was 42.7 degrees, as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). On Saturday, Hyderabad recorded at 35.3 degrees.

The IMD predicted that the temperature could hover at 44 degrees on Monday while rain is likely to lash city at evening or night.
