Osmania University: Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan observed that encouragement of teachers was as much important as that given by parents to students for a rosy future.
Speaking at the fifth graduation ceremony of OU Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts and Science College, after presenting degree certificates to students, she recalled that the main reason for her present post was the encouragement given by her gurus, while noting that the country would progress only when women do well in all fields.
The Governor advised women to continue their studies even after marriage so as to continue efforts for meeting their goals. She stressed that anything could be achieved in life only through hard work.
Dr Soundararajan advised girls to learn martial arts for self-protection, while expressing anguish over the Disha rape-murder case. She wanted the government to initiate steps for martial arts coaching from the primary stage itself in the State-run schools.
Those present at the ceremony included OU In-charge VC Arvind Kumar, Andhra Mahila Sabha president Usha Reddy, principal Rajeswari, chairperson Usha, representatives of the Sabha management, parents and students.
