Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a review meeting with the authorities over the new municipal act here at Pragati Bhavan.
The government aim is to eradicate corruption and render services to the people through the new act, KCR asserted. The new act which is learned to be tougher than the present one will be designed to ensure better services to the people.
The government is planning to bring the new act into effect before the municipal elections. The state will hold the municipal elections after the ZPTC and MPTC elections in the state.
