Mahbubnagar: No retreating under cosh, reiterate RTC workers
The RTC strike that entered the day 19 on Wednesday was marked with unique protests by the employees across the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district.

In Achampet mandal of Nagarkurnool district, the employees took to begging as a mark of their protest. They also took out a huge rally and later sat on a protest in front of the RTC bus depot.
The workers later presented flowers to the temporary RTC drivers and conductors and urged them not to attend the duties and support their cause.
To this, a majority of temporary drivers and conductors obliged to their request and stopped attending the duties. With this, the Achampet RTC bus stand wore a deserted look with no buses and no passengers at the bus stop.
Similarly, in Kalwakurthy, the RTC employees as part of a call given by the RTC union JAC leaders, tried to lay siege to the houses of people's representatives in the town.
As part of this, they went out as a rally and tried to stage a protest in front of Kalwakurthy MLA Jaipal Yadav's residence. However, the police foiled their attempt.
In Gadwal district, the BJP and Congress leaders, who took part in a rally to support the RTC employees strike, staged a protest in front of RTC depot and they presented rose flowers to the temporary RTC drivers and conductors and urged them not to attend the duties and asked them to support their cause.
Senior BJP leader DK Aruna along with other BJP activists also took part in the programme and urged the temporary employees to not to attend the duties from tomorrow onwards.
Congress leader and former Alampur MLA Sampath Kumar also expressed his solidarity with the RTC employees and took a dig at the State government for ignoring the employees strike.
In Narayanpet district, the RTC employees took out a rally from the RTC depot and staged a protest in front of the District Collector's office and raised slogans against the State government for its adamant attitude towards the stir.
In Wanaparthy, some unidentified persons wearing helmets threw stones on the RTC bus heading towards Kollapur via Pangal mandal. However, no one was injured. The temporary RTC driver lodged a complaint with the Pangal police.
