Nagarjunasagar: 20 crest gates of Sagar reservoir lifted, tourists throng to get a glimpse

The officials of Nagarjunasagar dam on Thursday opened 20 crest gates of the dam to over 20 feet and released water downstream as the inflows increased from Srisailam dam.

As per official sources, the Sagar reservoir has been receiving 5,77, 726 cusecs from upper stream and officials have been releasing 6,05,393 cusecs of water to downstream.
The present level of Sagar reservoir is 310.55 tmcft at 589.50 feet as against Full Tank Level of 312.045 tmcft at 590 feet.
Meanwhile, several tourists thronged the Nagarjunasagar on the day to witness the release of water from the dam.
