Peddapalli: Telangana State Finance Commission Chairman Rajesham Goud urged the Central government to give national status to Kaleshwaram project, which was constructed to fulfil the irrigation and drinking water needs of the people of Telangana.
On Wednesday, he inspected the under tunnel constructed at Nandi Pump House under Kaleshewaram project at Dharmaram mandal of Peddapalli district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said that after the construction of Kaleshwaram project, Godavari River water from Pranahitha project is lifted and supplied to upper stream for a stretch of about 200 km until the water flows into the Sri Ram Sagar project. Very soon, SRSP project water will be supplied to farmers for irrigation purpose for two successive crops.
