Nizamabad: The agitation of the RTC workers in Nizamabad led to intense tension on Friday. The police attacked the dharna camp and crackdown on the agitators staging a protest Dharna Chowk here on the 35th day of their strike. The cops had arrested a few RTC workers into custody and shifted them to police station. But the remaining agitators tried to prevent the police vehicle from moving. The police pulled away them from the road.

A few women fell unconscious when the police tried to take more number of protestors in a single vehicle. They were shifted to hospital. Immediately after the arrest of the RTC workers, leaders of IFTU and Congress came to the spot to extend their solidarity and they were also arrested by the police.

As a precautionary measure in view of the RTC JAC's Million March at Tank Bund on Saturday (November 9), the police took the leaders of trade unions and other unions into custody and shifted them to various police stations in Nizamabad.

New Democracy Leaders Prabhakar, Ganganna, Rajeshwar, Venkati, Ramakrishna, PYL Kishan, Suman, PDSU leaders Gautam and Prashanth and others were arrested and shifted to Town 4 police station.
