Tension prevailed at Gunnepalli in Mahabubabad after the bus passengers staged a protest against the driver for driving drunk.
The rented TSRTC bus belonging to Suryapet Depot was heading to Vemulawada through Dathalapalli with 47 passengers on board. The driver is learned to have stopped the bus near a house where he consumed alcohol.
The passengers who noticed the driver in inebriated state questioned him and demanded action against him.
However, the bus conductor pacified the passengers and shifted them to another bus. Meanwhile, the driver and conductor went to Suryapet depot.
