Secunderabad: South Central Railway RPF cops always on alert to save lives

Secunderabad: The video of an RPF constable Vikul Kumar pulling off a passenger Venkat Reddy who had fallen into the gap between the platform and a moving train last August is still fresh in the memory of netizens. Like him there are several from the South Central Railway RPF who have been keeping a tight vigil and saving lives. In 2019, RPF personnel saved lives of 67 passengers who tried to board/alight the running trains.

The child help desk at the Secunderabad Railway Station rescued 1,063 children. Male culprits entering ladies compartments has been a major area of concern. In all, 488 were prosecuted and a fine of Rs 26,000 was realized.

Missing bags

Cases of passengers forgetting their bags are a daily feature on Indian Railways, more so in SCR jurisdiction. RPF personnel handed over 'Left Behind Luggage' on 1,704 occasions and handed over to rightful owners. South Central Railway is recognized as 2nd best zone among all other zones over Indian Railways.
